Due to the growth in the production of electric vehicles in the world, there has been a threefold increase in the demand for lithium-ion batteries. Nowadays, lithium-ion batteries are not recycled, they are buried in special storages, because the process of extracting useful metals from batteries is difficult, technologically-complicated and still imperfect.
 “Rich Chemical” LLC has developed a technology that performs the recycling of lithium-ion batteries with the extraction of 90% of useful metals: lithium, cobalt, iron, copper, manganese, graphite, etc. It is noteworthy that these metals can be recycled and recycled almost indefinitely. We believe that with our innovative development we make a great contribution to the protection of the environment and contribute to the conservation of natural resources.
We are looking for investors to jointly build battery recycling plants with the further possibility of their replication worldwide.

This project considers the organization of production for the processing of lithium batteries with the extraction of valuable components in the form of cells or their compounds.
 The technology used is based on hydrometallurgy and direct recycling methods and does not involve the use of high-temperature processing methods.
 In addition, the developed technology allows the reuse of chemical agents and reaction products in the technological process, thereby reducing the amount of waste generated and emissions to insignificant values.

The project assumes:
  • Organization of mass production of a full cycle of lithium-ion battery recycling with extraction of raw materials or their compounds.
  • Development and creation of a specialized industrial line for chemical extraction of components from the active mass of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of at least 100 tons/year, based on the technology developed by „RICH CHEMICAL” LLC.
  • Scaling production to a capacity of at least 1,000 tons/year.
  • Creation of an extensive end product sales system.

Project participants: the investor company, as well as companies attracted by the project's investors

The project concept provides for the following procedure and stages of cooperation of participants:
  • The initiator of the project enters into an investment agreement with the Investor, defining the terms of interaction before, during and after the project implementation;
  • The initiator of the project develops project documentation with the involvement of a specialized company and, based on it, organizes the construction and equipping of production facilities for processing lithium batteries;
  • The initiator organizes the serial processing of lithium batteries using its own technology in a full cycle until the raw materials are obtained (compounds based on them).
The target market for the Project's products consists of two basic segments:
  • Manufacturers of lithium-ion batteries (all products used as secondary raw materials).
  • Own consumption by the Initiator of the project within the framework of current production activities.
The design production volume is 1,000 tons per year of recyclable lithium-ion batteries.
The project provides for 3 types of lithium batteries planned for recycling:
  • Lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4, LiFe, LFP, IFR)
  • Lithium-cobalt (ICR) • Lithium-manganese (IMR or INR).
The implementation of the project will begin from the moment of signing the investment agreement and will take 21 months.
The main financial indicators of the project:
 The total financing requirement for the project is 5 200 000 $.
They include:      
  • financing of capital expenditures;
  • purchase of equipment;
  • financing of current activities (operating expenses at the initial stage of operation).
Starting from the third year of the project, the incoming cash flow from the core business will become the main source of financing.

At the moment, the project is at the pre-investment stage:
  • development of a business plan and business model for the organization of production, identification of preliminary key needs and indicators;
  • identification of the main organizational measures, preliminary deadlines for their implementation and financial costs;
  • identification of performers of the main stages and activities of the project.
The project will allow the company:
  • occupy a vacant niche in the domestic and global lithium battery recycling markets;
  • reduce the environmental impact of growing volumes of hazardous waste;
  • organize a new high-tech production facility with the creation of new jobs for qualified engineering, technical and production personnel.
  • receive a stable income from the sale of rare earth metals and/or their compounds obtained during recycling.
