Cold-applied plastic "Leader" for manual application
1. DESCRIPTION
Cold–applied plastic "Leader" (hereinafter referred to as manual CP "Leader") is a highly viscous material equipped with a polymerization initiator (hardener) and, according to consumer orders, retroreflective glass beads, does not contain organic solvents. It is intended for obtaining thick-layer horizontal marking of the carriageway of highways with high functional durability.
The manual СP "Leader" is available in white, yellow, red, blue, green, and black colours.
2. APPLICATION
For manual CP "Leader", a dry hardener is recommended, which is added mechanically in accordance with the instructions for use of the application technique, depending on the ambient temperature in an amount from 0.5 to 2.5%.
3. METHODS OF APPLICATION
The consumption of plastic depends on the condition of the coating surface, the presence of surface treatment, and the method of application. The approximate consumption of manual CP "LEADER" for solid marking is 5.0-7.5 kg/m2, for structural 3.5-5.0 kg/m2, for profile marking, the consumption can reach 7.0-12.0 kg/m2, depending on the profile relief.
Consumption of microgloss beads is from 250 to 500 g/m2. The recommended granulometric composition of microgloss beads is 400-840 microns, surface treatment is adhesive and flotation.
4. PACKAGING
Metal buckets net weight 30 kg
 5. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
Plastic is transported and stored in a tightly sealed container at a temperature not exceeding +30 ° C in compliance with applicable fire safety regulations. Transportation and storage of plastic and the polymerization initiator are carried out separately.
6. WARRANTY PERIOD OF STORAGE
12  months from the date of manufacture.
Spray-plastic cold-applied "Leader S".
1. DESCRIPTION
Cold-applied spray plastic "Leader S" (hereinafter referred to as CP spray "Leader S") is a chemically cured material in the presence of an initiator of radical polymerization. It is intended for road markings on highways and streets with an improved coating, it is applied by spraying with a layer thickness of up to 1.5 mm.
CP "Leader S" spray is available in white, yellow, red, and green colours.
2. APPLICATION
For CP "Leader S" spray, a liquid hardener is recommended, which is added mechanically in accordance with the instructions for usage of the application technique, depending on the ambient temperature, in an amount from 0.5 to 2.5%, while it is forbidden to inject the hardener into a bucket with CP.
The approximate curing time with 2% of the hardener at a temperature of 20 ° C and humidity of about 60% is 15-20 minutes.
3. METHODS OF APPLICATION
It is applied using specialized marking equipment.
The approximate consumption of spray plastic is 1.0-1.8 kg / m2, depending on the condition of the coating surface, the presence of surface treatment, and the method of application. Consumption of microgloss beads is from 200 to 400 g/m2. The recommended granulometric composition of microgloss beads is 100-600 microns, surface treatment is adhesive and flotation.
4. PACKAGING
Metal buckets with a net weight of 30 kg.
5. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
CP spray is transported and stored in a tightly sealed container at a temperature not exceeding +30 ° C in compliance with applicable fire safety regulations. Transportation and storage of plastic and the polymerization initiator are carried out separately.
6. WARRANTY PERIOD OF STORAGE
12 months from the date of manufacture.

Important for road marking brigades!

Application technology:
1. Before using cold plastic (CP), mix thoroughly in a mechanized manner (with an electric drill with a special nozzle in explosion/fire–proof design) in a packaging container for 2-3 minutes until the original uniformity is restored.
2. In cases of storage of CP in unheated rooms at subzero temperatures, before applying, in addition to uniformity, it is necessary to make sure that the temperature of the material is at least +5 ° C.
3. In cases where a liquid hardener is used, it should be mixed until smooth in the cans before adding it to the CP.
4. In case of manual application, the hardener is injected into a bucket with CP immediately before application, stirring mechanically or manually. After adding the CP hardener, it is necessary to continue mixing for 1 min.
5. The amount of hardener added to the CP depends on the ambient temperature:
  • from 5°C to 15°             2.0 – 2.5% of the hardener should be used;
  • from 15 °C to 25 °C       1.0 – 2.0% of the hardener should be used;
  • from 25 °C to 30 ° C   0.5 – 1.0% of the hardener should be used.
6. When using a hardener above the recommended values (more than 2.5%), the manufacturer does not guarantee that the marking made by CP will comply with the requirements of regulatory legal acts for its service life. Excessive increase in the amount of hardener makes the marking less durable, the material turns yellow and becomes "rubbery".
7. Retroreflective glass beads are applied on top of the freshly applied CP layer no later than 5-7 minutes after the introduction of the hardener (during the "lifetime" of the CP). Uniform distribution of glass beads is achieved by spraying under pressure using special equipment, or, in the case of applying CP manually according to a template, it is allowed to use devices for uniform distribution of glass beads by gravity (sprinkling boxes, watering cans, etc.).
8. It is forbidden to mix different brands of CP together, add glass beads, granite chips and other fillers to a bucket of plastic.
9. CP markings should be applied in dry weather on a dry, dirt-free, dust-free, sand-free, and oil-free road surface at a steady air temperature of at least +5°C.C and not higher than +30 ° C and relative humidity not more than 85%. The recommended application temperature is (20±5)°C. It is not allowed to apply plastic on an unprepared and/or wet surface, in case of rain, fog or dew, as the curing time increases to two hours and adhesion to the road surface significantly deteriorates.
10. To apply CP, the road surface temperature must be at least 4 °C above the dew point! The dew point is the temperature of the air at which the steam contained in it reaches saturation and begins to condense into dew. The humidity of the roadway greatly reduces the functional durability of the CP marking, in addition, it leads to the appearance of uneven coating thickness (streaks), bubbles and craters on the surface.
